Description
The term “Aryana” is an ancient name for the Central Asian region which includes northern Afghanistan. Aryana rugs are woven by Turkmen weavers in Northern Afghanistan using an asymmetrical or Persian knot. The weaving is of medium fineness, approximately 90 knots per square inch. The Aryana line of rugs is eclectic in terms of design, containing nineteenth century tribal and village designs, contemporary and Gabbeh designs, and some more formal traditional rug designs.
