Description
The oriental rug-making world is composed of small, cohesive groups of people known as “tribes.” Tribal weavers can be found throughout Iran, the Caucuses, Central Asia, and into Morocco, Turkey, and Russia, and feature rug making traditions that have endured for centuries. Each of these tribes produce unique handicrafts that feature designs that are individual and unique to the tribe. Tribal rugs tend to be smaller, more vibrant, and bolder in their primitive design patterns and colors, featuring designs and weaves that are passed from generation to generation.
