Description
Nain rugs are constructed using the Persian knot. The pile is usually
high-quality wool, clipped short, and silk is often used as highlighting for
detail in the design. Generally beige and blue with silken highlights, the blues
can vary from the deepest midnight to the palest sky, with royal blues and
turquoise highlights. Typical details include the curvilinear vines, leaves,
flowers, birds and animals, and regal borders.
